Replacement of Passport :

1. Existing Bangladeshi passport may be replaced on following occasion

a. When all pages of existing passport has been exhausted or used.

b. When passport has been damaged unintentionally

c. After completion of 10 years tenure from the date of issue

2. Requirements for Replacement : Following documents are needed for replacement of passport

a. Existing Passport

b. Filled up of Passport Application form

c. 4 copies of passport size photograph (1 copy attested , attestation can be done by, council or Mosque Imam)

3. Fees

Urgent delivery : £ 115 (64 page Passport)

£ 106 (48 page Passport)

Normal delivery: £ 75 ( 64page Passport)

£ 70 (48 page Passport)

4. Delivery Time

Urgent Service : 05 Working days

Normal Service : 10 Working days

5. Methods of Availing the service

a. Direct Services by physically coming to the High Commission

b. Postal Service,

c. Services through consular surgery

6. Payment Method : By Debit card, Bank draft, Postal order. No cash or cheques are allowed.

Issue of New Passport against lost Passport

1 Requirements for Issue of New Passport Against Lost Passport

a. Physical presence of the applicant in the High Commission for interview

b. Filled up passport application form.

c. Police report on lost passport

d. Any documents proving applicant's Bangladeshi Identity ( Birth Certificate, copy of

previous passport)

e. 6 Copies of Passport size Photograph (1 copy attested , attestation can be done

by councilor, Mosque Imam, GP)

2. Steps Needed for Issuance of New Passport Against Lost Passport

a. Applicant is interviewed with all the required documents.

b. On satisfactory interview , a temporarily citizen certificate with 90 days validity

is issued to the applicant.

c. All the documents of applicants are sent to Bangladesh for police clearance

d. On receipt of police clearance from Bangladesh new passport is issued to the

applicant

e. If the police clearance is not received within 21 days a temporary passport of

2 years validity may be issued to the applicant

3. Fees : No fees are taken for temporary citizen certificates. After police clearance or after 21 days following fees are taken to issue passport

1. Bangladeshi Passport can be renewed after completion of 5 years from the date of issue. However on completion of 10 years passports are needed o be replaced instead of renewal.

Endorsement /Correction in Passport

1. Endorsement /Correction are made in Passport on following occasion

a. Endorsement of the name of children after their birth.

b. Change of Marital status

c. Change of Profession

d. Name Change

e. Change of Address

f. Correction due to official error

2. Requirements of Endorsement/ Correction.

a. Endorsement of Children

(1) Child's Birth Certificate showing parents name

(2) Bangladeshi Passport of father and mother

(3) 2 x Passport size photograph of the child (1 copy to be attested, if child

cannot be brought to the High Commission

(4) Filled up passport application form

b. Change of Marital status and Replacement of Father's name by Husband's name

(1) Registered Marriage certificate

(2) One copy of passport size photograph

(3) Filled up passport application form

c. Change of Profession

(1) A letter from the Employer or the Institution

(2) One copy of passport size photographs

(3) Filled up passport application form

d. Name and Other changes

(1) Affidavit in support of changes/ correction duly legalized by solicitor to be

enclosed

(2) Or, Any valid document which substantiate and support the

changes/correction acceptable to concerned officer

(3) Filled up passport application form

e. Correction Due to official Error:

(1) Intimate immediately any mistake in entry by officials

(2) Correction due to official error is done free of charge

Travel Permit

1. Travel Permit/Documents are issued to Bangladeshi nationals who for some reason are not in possession of their Bangladeshi Passport and want to return to Bangladesh.

2. Requirements of Travel Permit

(1) Applicant has to physically turn up in the High Commission for interview

( 2) Any of the following documents showing applicant's Bangladeshi identity

(a) Copy of Previous Passport

(b) Bangladeshi Birth Certificate or other Educational Certificate

(c) A letter from prominent personality( Imam, Councilors , GP, etc) certifying

Bangladeshi identity

(3) 4x Passport Size photograph

(4) Filled up Passport application form
