Postal Service Guideline

What Services we provide through Postal:

  • 1. MRP Reissue (Only MRP to MRP). For MRP Reissue application through post please click here.
  • 2. No Visa Required. For NVR applicaiton through post please click here.

Process of MRP Reissue through Postal Service:

How to do the Postal Application:

  • Download the form from https://bhclondon.org.uk/assets/theme/file/MRP_reissue.pdf and fill in the form.
  • Enclose One copy of your recent passport size photo (Note: This photo will not be used in your passport). Your reissued passport photo will be the same photo as of your previous passport.
  • Enclose Existing Previous passport with a photocopy of the two main pages. Note: Existing Previous passport is mandatory for postal renew. We will send the old MRP back to you once the new MRP is processed.
  • Go to a nearby post office (Royal Mail)
    Collect a 92-pound postal order in favour of ''Bangladesh High Commission, London'' and enclose that postal order with your application form and other documents. The fee will be 30 pounds for a full-time student, subject to providing a valid student ID card or CAS letter of letter from educational institution. If the student ID card does not have the validity clearly written, you must send a letter from the educational institution stating your enrolment session. Please do not send any personal check.
  • Get a self-addressed prepaid return postal envelop. The envelope should be Next Day Recorded Delivery prepaid envelope (up to two passport we require 100-gram prepaid envelope, up to five passport we require 500-gram prepaid envelope). Write your return address on it.
  • Enclose all the documents and fee together. You must enclose required documents in support of any change if requested.
  • Send all the documents and return envelope by post to: Bangladesh High Commission, 28 Queen's Gate, South Kensington, London SW7 5JA.

What we can change through postal MRP application:

  • We can change your marital status and we can add spouse name if requested. You must provide your Registered marriage certificate or Nikahnama to change this. We do not accept Muslim Marriage certificate.
  • You can remove your spouse’s name if you are divorced. In that case you must provide the Divorce Certificate/Decree of Absolute. If you are re-married and want your new spouses name to be added to your passport you must send us the Divorce Certificate/Decree of Absolute with your previous spouse and the Registered marriage certificate or Nikahnama with your new spouse.
  • You can change your emergency contact address and Present address. You must provide a Utility bill copy or any other evidence in support of your present address.

What we cannot change through Postal MRP reissue application:

  • If Your Previous passport was a Handwritten passport.
  • If the applicant is a new-born and applying for the Bangladeshi MRP first time.
  • If You want to change your photo.
  • If you are in the age between 5 to 20. Mandatory photo change will be required for this age group.
  • If you want to change your signature.
  • If you want to correct your Name, Date of Birth, Permanent address, and Parents Name (These changes are not approved from Bangladesh Passport office).

If you want any of the above in your MRP through Postal Service, your application will be rejected. For the above changes you must make an appointment and visit in person to Bangladesh High Commission, London. Please see the passport section for documents requirement for the above changes. Postal guideline who are sending MRP reissue application from Ireland:

  • The MRP fee for Ireland is 92 Pounds. For Students this fee will be 30 Pounds, subject to providing a valid student ID card or CAS letter of letter from educational institution. If the student ID card does not have the validity clearly written, you must send a letter from the educational institution stating your enrolment session. Another 10 Pounds Bank Draft as return postal fee is required. Two separate Bank drafts are required. The application will be rejected if the fee is wrong. If you are unable to get a pound bank draft from Ireland, you must provide us UK Postal order from UK.
  • The required fee must be sent by a Irish Bank Draft from a Bank or a UK Postal Order in favour of Bangladesh High Commission, London. Applications will not be processed if you send Euro or Irish postal order. Please do not send any personal check.
  • Get a self-addressed return envelope.
  • And all other documents as mentioned above.

PLEASE NOTE that due to high volume of inbound applications, we will not be able to give you an update as to when we received your postal application and when we disbursed the New MRP through your return postal envelop. Hence, it is better to use the postal mails with tracking system of the Royal Mail. We shall not be able to respond to you regarding your MRP reissue status within the first 30 days you have sent your application. We expect to deliver the MRP within 2 months of the enrolment. However, this completely depends on Bangladesh Immigration and Passport office.

Process of NVR Reissue through Postal Service:

Note: NVR on spouse ground must not be sent over post. NVR on spouse ground must be present in the High Commission with an appointment. You may book an appointment from this link: https://bhclondon.org.uk/no-visa-appointment

Step by step guidelines for NVR postal application:

  • A) Please fill-in the online form on www.visa.gov.bd ;
    • Tips of successful visa application:
    • Please do not upload any photo. Skip the photo upload.
    • Please do not use iphone or mac.
    • Please do not put any (,.':) while filling in the address field.
    • Please skip the payment option.
    • Please select ‘Others’ in the Organization and write ‘none’ if you are not from any organization.
    • Select FM in the part 6 and select Bangladesh High Commission, London.
  • B) Take a print of the filled-in application Form and sign.
  • C) Enclose your original British/Irish Passport with the document’s states in the document requirement section. See this link for document requirement: https://bhclondon.org.uk/no-visa-required.
  • D) Go to a nearby post office (Royal Mail);
  • E) Collect a postal order of £46.00 in favour of ''Bangladesh High Commission, London'' and enclose that postal order with your application form.
  • Collect a self-addressed return postal envelop. The envelope should be Next Day Recorded Delivery prepaid envelope (up to two passport we require 100-gram prepaid envelope, up to five passport we require 500-gram prepaid envelope). Write your return address on it and,

Note: We suggest you post this with the Royal mail tracking service. And please keep this tracking reference number with you for future query.

Postal guideline who are sending NVR application from Ireland:

  • The NVR fee for Ireland is 46 Pounds. Another 10 Pounds Bank Draft as return postal fee. Two separate Bank draft is required. The application will be rejected if the fee is wrong. Please do not send any personal check. The application will not be processed if the fee is wrong. If you are unable to get a pound bank draft from Ireland, you must provide us UK Postal order from UK.
  • Get a self-addressed return envelope.

Postal Delivery: You will receive the issued NVR along with your passport after 30 days from the date we receive your postal application.

PLEASE NOTE that due to high volume of inbound applications, we will not be able to give you an update as to when we have received your postal application and when we disbursed the NVR through your return postal envelop. Hence, it is better to use the postal mails with tracking system of the Royal Mail. We expect to deliver the NVR within 30 days of the enrolment. 1. You need to apply from https://www.visa.gov.bd/

Tips of successful visa application:

  • Please do not use an iphone or mac.
  • Please don't upload any photo. Skip the photo upload.
  • Please don't upload any photo. Skip the photo upload.
  • Please skip the payment option.
  • Please select ‘Others’ in the Organization and write ‘none’ if you are not from any organization.
  • Select FM in part 6 and select Bangladesh High Commission, London.

2. After the application is submitted, please download it and print and then sign.

3. Attach a photo on the top of the application (use glue, please do not staple).

4. Attach the required document in support of your visa category. You may check this link for details: https://bhclondon.org.uk/visa

5. Enclose all the documents as described above.

6.  Attach the required fee as a Postal Order in favour of Bangladesh High Commission, London. You may see the visa fee from here https://bhclondon.org.uk/tourist-visa

7. Collect a self-addressed return postal envelope. The envelope should be a Next Day Recorded Delivery prepaid envelope (up to two passports we require a 100-gram prepaid envelope, up to five passports we require a 500-gram prepaid envelope). Write your return address on it and,

9. Visa will be sent within 21 working days.

Postal guideline who are sending Visa application from Ireland:

  • For Irish passport the visa fee will be 60 Pounds as a Bank Draft. Another 10 Pounds Bank Draft as return postal fee. Two separate Bank draft is required. The application will be rejected if the fee is wrong. Please do not send any personal check. The application will not be processed if the fee is wrong. If you are unable to get a pound bank draft from Ireland, you must provide us UK Postal order from UK.
